To comply with ULEZ regulations, petrol cars need to adhere to Euro 4 emissions standards. The majority of petrol cars registered after January 2006 meet these requirements. However, petrol cars that meet the more stringent Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards are exempt from charges. On the other hand, diesel cars need to meet Euro 6 standards to be ULEZ compliant.

You can check if your vehicle meets ULEZ standards by using the vehicle checker tool on the Transport for London (TfL) website. Input your vehicle registration to see if you need to pay the ULEZ charge​.

Category: Emission Zones

The daily charge is as follows: £12.50* for cars, motorcycles, vans, and specialist vehicles weighing up to and including 3.5 tonnes, as well as minibuses weighing up to and including 5 tonnes. Payment for the journey can be made either by midnight on the third day following the journey or up to 90 days in advance.
